I have cats, horses and one very pissed off bird.
Wow you're still reading? Cool! ...I figure I needed to put that out there first since some folks aren't into animals and/or do not care for cats. The animals are part of the package deal and won't be leaving. I don't wear sweaters with kittens on them, don't sleep with my critters or expect you to clean up their mess. :)
Seems as if we are all looking for the same thing this would be simpler. What I am looking for is a friend, a lover, and a partner. Someone who has my back during the rough times, who openly communicates the good, bad and the ugly in order to make the relationship better, and whose life I can enrich by being part of it. I want someone that sees me, not just my imperfections and helps me grow/improve as a person. Someone that can be silly, laugh at themselves, is kind, and passionate about something in their life and doing something about it. Chemistry is an unpredictable variable but a key one. They must be affectionate and comfortable demonstrating it. In the end it's the simple things we can enjoy together.... sitting on the porch at the end of the day, enjoying a glass of wine and talking (or not).
A little about me. Guinness is the drink of choice, however a dirty (and I mean filthy) Ketel One martini is right on up there. I like a lot of sports but horse racing, football and college basketball are at the top of the list. I'm a fan but not a fanatic...well maybe on the horse racing side. If you know what a furlong is then it's a good start. Enjoy live music and dancing (never said I could dance). I love to ski and see new places. I live vicariously through National Geographic. It’s really fun to spend an evening in a new town or city and see what it has to offer especially if a great restaurant is discovered. I enjoy wine tastings but by no means an expert. I love the intimacy of spending an evening together simply fixing dinner, drinking wine and hanging out on the couch. You wash, I'll dry. I like being active and enjoy outside activities. I take care of myself, working out regularly and expect the same in a mate (of course I understand that life can interrupt...just get back at it). I am more than capable of and welcome doing those things that bring friends and family together and makes a house a home (although I don't really have the "mom" gene so do better with teenagers/young adults). I just need someone to do it with. I can also use a socket wrench, paint, do minor home repairs and drive a tractor. Hey, you do what you have to right?! I am not really a political person so I am very open to the political differences of others. It’s all about respect and an open mind because in the end we all want the same things. I am a fairly logical person and will tend to process, ponder and analyze everything. That said I am a deeply emotional person and take affairs of the heart (mine and others) very seriously.
I don't have all the answers and certainly can't give a picture of the perfect person...that's just silly 'cause no one is perfect.
PS: I have received lovely emails from gentlemen older/younger than my search range. I have also heard from those in far off lands and currently separated. I appreciate the effort but I know that I connect better with folks within that range, long distance is really tough when starting a new relationship, and dating someone who isn't legally available (no judging) isn't something I am comfortable in pursuing.
