Me: I'm laid back and relaxed about life, but I can be serious when necessary. I've been told by others (friends and strangers) that I'm articulate, intelligent, able to hold a good conversation, and a good listener as well. I'm mature, grounded, and I'm very comfortable in my own skin. I try not to take myself too seriously most of the time, and I always look for the humor and/or positive side of things. I'm constantly trying to make myself a better human being, and part of that means being and honest and responsible person.While I have my own share of insecurities (who doesn't?), "they" and I are for the most part civil with one another.
I love to experience and learn new things - I have a list of "to dos" that include skydiving, going in a shark cage with the Great Whites (on the outside, of course), visiting an active volcano, and becoming a better cook (because one cannot experience the world on an empty stomach). I enjoy great conversations, simplicity in life, and spending quality time with the important people in my life. I can be a bit of a gym rat, mainly because it keeps me in shape and helps me decompress after a day at work teaching. I read a lot, listen to NPR, and while I don't watch TV, I'm open to DVD marathon sessions if it's good (I've got both seasons of HBO's "Rome", to give you an idea).
Who am I looking for? Someone who laughs, sees the positive in all situations, and is open-minded and willing to try new things, all while staying grounded. I'm more impressed with someone who tries and fails than someone who doesn't try at all. I'm one for long, deep conversations about anything ranging from astronomy to politics to whether an original movie or its remake is better and why. Someone who can be a friend, partner in life, and someone who will have my back as I will most definitely return the favor. Someone enthusiastic about exploring and experiencing together all the avenues of this dream we call human life.
