I was a little skeptical about the world of online dating, but I decided to give it a try. A little about me, I was born and raised in Virginia. I'm fortunate in that my family still lives in Virginia so I get to see them fairly often. I love to learn, both in academic settings and informally from other people. I will probably start another master's degree in the next year or two but I haven't decided what my next degree will be. As far as hobbies, I like to bake and I have a big sweet tooth. I have yet to meet a chocolate dessert I didn't like! I love to travel internationally; traveling is in my DNA. I spent two and a half years living in the Middle East for work and while it was a challenging assignment, I have no regrets about taking it. My preference is to travel to places where the culture is significantly different from Western culture. On the weekends, I volunteer at a military museum in the area. I'm by no means a history expert but I enjoy learning about history and hearing the experiences from the other volunteers, most of whom are retired military.
I'm a very loyal person - both in my personal and professional life. I try to exemplify my faith in the way that I live my life and how I treat people. I am an introvert until I get to know someone but I truly value all of the friendships I have and would do anything for my friends. I'm hard-working and give my all in everything that I do. My friends tell me that I'm funny but my humor doesn't usually come out until I get to know a person. I'm at the point in my life where I'm looking for a long term relationship. However, that doesn't mean that I'm looking to get married tomorrow. I don't believe in divorce so I intend to take my time to find Mr. Right instead of Mr. Right Now.
I'm looking to meet someone who, above all, has a high degree of integrity, honesty and loyalty. My family means the world to me and I would like to find someone that places the same importance on their family. I am attracted to guys who are confident (but not overly so) and those that are goal oriented with a plan for how to achieve their goals. I was brought up to value education and I consider it an important aspect in helping to make a person well-rounded. I'm looking for someone who shares my views on education as I think that I would be most compatible with someone who has similar educational experiences. However, I'm not looking for someone that likes all the same things that I do. I enjoy getting to know people with tastes that vary from my own so I can learn from them.
