2013 looks so exciting for me-- I'm finally back home in NYC after a few years studying in Southern Florida and abroad.
Just started at The Stella Adler Studio's conservatory program..for acting-- really excited!.. as a writer/poet, i naturally see myself as a storyteller...so this is simply an extension of that*
I love classic movies; I also enjoy independent /rare films like Bobcat's "God Bless America" , and I think ‘Nacho Libre’ and 'The Life Aquatic w/Steve Zissou' are works of genius!!
I love graphic novels, Tim Burton films, Avett Bros., wide range of music, online shopping for just about anything.
I believe all the lessons of life can be found in Kurosawa films and old Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns ; I was born / raised in Park Slope, Brooklyn NyC- it was definitely much more culturally diverse back when I was a little rebel in the paRk! haha*
A few years ago, I found out I had a son; he was born in Europe while i was in the military; he lives in Missouri with his mom and stepdad; we're getting to know each other, I'm happy to be in a mentor-ship role; i've gone to see him 3 times so far; he's a great kid-- he's got one more year of H.S. left and is already looking at colleges and he's recently told me he'll be going to the Air Force Academy to become a jet fighter pilot. So, yeah.. so i've no doubt he'll be an exciting young man.
I tend to jump randomly from subject to subject, but always manage to tell a compelling story; depending on who I’m with, I enjoy carnivals fairs but 2 or 3 hours is usually my limit- unless the food is tasty; one day I’ll own an American muscle car- I’m shooting for something in the ’67 to ’72 range.
I believe dusty hole-in-the-wall saloons bars are essential rest stops on long road trips- even though I don’t drink like a gun-toting outlaW. As I was explaining, I'm studying theater; although writing is my passion, I believe finding other platforms of creativity is something i'm compelled to do. Also, I love ice Cream and making killer playlists for my youTube channel!! Ha!
You: be smart, have a super sense of humoR, confident humble. Compassionate, cute, a creative thinker... and deF not hung up on material things-- comic book/ graphic novel geek is a cute plus! LOL*** I hope you like B movie cult classics or nerdy documentaries; at least maybe be open to them! =)
Although I’m proficient with grammar, I like to play with spelling and punctuation, randomly capitalize letterZ in the middle of words not simply because it’s fun, but because I find it visually interesting. I also have odd uses for asterisks and ellipses..
The typical writer, I can probably go on for days, but now it’s your turn…
Trust me, I’m a very good listener as well**
