I'm a realist with a sarcastic sense of humor. I'm shy at first but talk too much once I get started. I'm a clean, health conscious person that tries to stay in shape, eat right and take care of myself. I would like to find someone who does the same. I like the outdoors. I like to travel and try new places to eat. I recently ran my first 1/2 marathon. I also ran the River Run and the Boston 10k this year. I'm looking for someone who finds happiness in the small things. Someone who is okay with not living a rushed life. Someone with an "old soul" who will appreciate a man who gives 100%. I believe in showing respect for women, treating them with kindness and gentleness. Old-fashioned? Maybe. But if something as simple as opening and closing a door for someone is considered old-fashioned then we are losing sight of our values. I would prefer to take things slow at first. If there's no connection established there's nothing wrong with remaining friends. If there IS however, then that would be great! I believe in showing affection so if you're not the type you probably won't like me. I think communication in all areas is key to a successful relationship. I believe in compassion, romance, passion, and tenderness. With that said, I'm also a man who is fully capable of doing what needs to be done to keep me and those close to me out of harm's way.
I like to cook. I like it even more so when I have someone to share the meal with. So be aware, It will not be on our first date, maybe not the second, but eventually you will be invited to my place to be subjected to my cooking. (Don't worry, I've had nothing but compliments.)
I like to eat. Whether It's a new recipe I'm making or a new restaurant I've been reading about. I favor Italian, Mexican, seafood and homestyle cooking.
I like to travel. I would like to revisit the West, DC and NYC. I've never been to Vegas but would like to see it even though I don't really gamble. I'm currently considering a road trip to the mountains. I'm thinking a cabin rental on a lake with a hot tub on the back porch overlooking some snow covered trees. It would be a lot more fun with a companion don't you think? (Once we've reached that point of course.)
I run and exercise. Notice I didn't say I "like" it. When you like cooking and eating you have to learn to like exercise. Well, I'm still learning. I feel great afterwards and it has improved my life and health tremendously but I still have to make myself do it. I like playing tennis as well so you may be roped into becoming my tennis partner. I also like snorkeling/diving. Though it's been a few years since I've been diving. I like shooting firearms. I also like camping and canoeing. Ever since I visited the Rocky mountains I have been wanting to get into hiking and possibly mountain biking. I like fast cars as well.
I like Disney. I'm an annual pass holder for the first time.
I like humor. Laughing with each other is healthy. Laughing at each other is destructive.
I don't like "drama". I'm well aware that if you have lived any length of time you will have drama. However, if it consumes your life, I wish you the best but I'll pass. If you just want to add my name to your list of guys to call if your bored or have no money don't bother. I prefer to focus my attention on whomever I happen to be involved with and no one else. I would expect the same. I'm not looking for someone who takes the little things for granted. I enjoy taking care of my partner but don't let my kindness be confused with me being naive. I'm not. I don't like black licourice, liver or rye bread. I don't like bad hygiene. I have a sensitive smell and it's a curse! I don't like trying to fold the fitted sheet. It's impossible!
Thanks for reading my ridiculously long profile! This should be a good indicator of how.
