I have found that Match.com is the Wild West of Dating in that it seems to have its own rules…when there are any. And just like the Wild West, there is the good, the bad, and the ugly (metaphorically-speaking, of course). So in this Wild West that is online dating, I would like to think of myself as one of the Good Guys. My record kind of speaks for itself: I teach 6th grade and love it, and feel I was put on this earth to be an educator and work with kids. I remember my parents’ birthdays. I volunteer as a Big Brother. I play guitar and write music. I take pride in my physical appearance, and this manifests itself in a love for running, biking, and weight lifting. I also love to travel, and have been hiking in Alaska and walked the streets of Auckland and London. I don’t tolerate indifference and apathy. I am not going to try and convince you that I am better than any other guy on here, but suffice to say I don't wear my hat backwards, I don't use the "F" word five times in every sentence, and I always tip well and say "Thank you." I was raised right. I sincerely believe that a man should never be gauged by the size of his bank account, how many continents he has visited, or how many women he has picked up at a bar. Rather, I believe with all my heart that a REAL man makes a positive impact on the world, chooses kindness when it is difficult, and puts his family first. In addition, while I enjoy a glazed doughnut or chicken wing more than most, I am very serious about being fit: I often run before work at 4 in the morning with the owls and deer, and have competed in many half-marathons and biathlons. (I am TRYING to learn to swim so I can compete in in triathlon...) It would be wonderful to find a partner to share a very fit lifestyle. Certainly I didn’t expect to be single at this age, but it just kind of happened that way. As I have weaved through my years of being single and having relationships, I have discovered that being single and alone is better than being together and miserable. I am looking for The Real Thing: a smart, sexy, fit, confident, witty, kind, and occasionally vulnerable woman who is also ready for The Real Thing. And you have your flaws too... So if you read this whole thing, I would give you a Gold Star. And if you are interested, ACT NOW! Supplies are limited (to one)!! (And I don't wink, and would like the same in return: Winking seems rather lazy to me!) Finally, I wish everyone luck, but please pay attention to my search criteria. Yes, all my pics are recent... :-)
