ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

I knew from an early age that I never wanted a life that fit into a nice, neat little box. I'm always looking for the unconventional in a conventional world. It's what gives me my spark. Friends sometimes look at me and give me, what I consider, is a compliment when they say I always have an edgy look to me. A black leather jacket over a summer sleeveless dress. Stiletto heels. I teach 8th graders at a private school and I love still having that rebel in me. The kids often say I'm unlike any teacher they have ever had before, and it's not just the looks. It's the attitude, how I approach things. It's different.

I'll always have that streak. I have strong morals and value integrity and honesty more than how much money a person has, their job or the car they drive. Could care less. I want to find a man who will make my heart race. Who challenges me in intellect. Who loves the adventure that is out there It.

At the end of the day, I kick off the heels, put on cargo shorts and tank top, and take the pups for a run, or hiking in Aptos at Nisene Marks. Always seem to be driving over the hill because I miss the water. I am a water baby! I want to swim, sail, lounge on the beach (not working on a tan) but reading, napping, snuggling with my sweetie. Throwing the orange bouncey ball for my Golden, who surprised himself a few years ago when he body surfed a huge wave at Davenport. He loved it,

Grew up in the Bay Area, Willow Glen and Carmel, and after tackling bunny slope at Yosemite's Badger Pass at age 3, was hooked. Thought maybe being downhill racer was in my future, so spent most weekends at Tahoe. The other weekends at the tennis club with Chrissie Evert aspirations. Killer backhand, but forehand tends to hit the tree tops. Now, spend as much time as I can hiking/ Spend a month every summer in Jackson Hole for a writing workshop for teens on track for the U.S. Olympic Ski Team. Sweet gig. I stay in a guest house close to the Snake River, teaching essay writing for two weeks, then two weeks for outdoor pursuits...hiking, riding horses, fly-fishing. I'm not that good at it but love wading into the water and casting.

I was fortunate growing up to have parents who thought traveling for 6 weeks during the school year, usually in the spring, trumped actually going to school. Ireland, England, France, Germany and Switzerland and Italy were the usual destinations. Loved traveling through Bavaria and seeing all the crazy prince's castles, seeing every museum possible, staying in out of the way places that didn't necessarily show up in guidebooks. Father never made reservations, but instead lived in the moment. Mentioned to a friend that I had been all over Europe, have spent considerable time in the Caribbean and Mexico, yet have never been to Hawaii, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon or New Orleans. As a newspaper reporter for more than 20 years in Florida, I covered drugs, murders, etc. Quite an adrenalin rush. Loved my job, yet when the newspaper biz took a major dive, I took a buy-out and started teaching writing. Found a perfect niche.

With family and a close circle of friends, my life is so full, yet that missing piece is you. Sometimes I am not terribly good at putting together puzzles, but hopefully this one will be completed soon.
