I have my faults, but as space is limited, I will focus on my good points:
I value honesty, integrity, humour, compassion, wisdom, and laughter. I practice forgiveness. I am a team player. I love family, friends, nature, travel, sports, wine and food, music and literature. I am a well raised gentleman with a good education, widely read, well travelled and grateful for the loving support of an extraordinary family and eclectic group of amazing and outstanding friends. I am equally comfortable attending a black tie gala as I am on a canoe portage through the wilderness to a pristine lake.
I am very grateful for all of the opportunities I have had, and I have always tried to make the most of them. I believe that to whom much is given, much is expected, and I strive to give back to my community. I have never been afraid of hard work, but I no longer believe it is an end in itself - though I have found the investment beneficial for my own personal development. I have had more than my fair share of success in life – and I have never lost a friend. I have tried to learn from all of my experiences and failures whether they be in competitive athletics, relationship turbulence or my career.
Life is too short for negativity and "drama". My friends, who date from elementary school onwards, and from all the many places and activities I have done, find my eclectic set of interests and endeavours hard to define; part philosopher, part happy warrior, part concerned citizen - of Canada and the world - part bon vivant and part aesthetic, but most would agree that I am an affectionate, well intentioned, cuddly bear who is slow to anger, but fiercely protective of friends and family and principle. If you are familiar with Rudyard Kipling’s poem “If”, you will understand the aim of my efforts to hone my character. I try to learn everyday, and maintain a sense of humour about life.
I am trained as a lawyer, a yoga teacher and massage therapist, and have travelled to over 70 countries and lived on three continents to date (and can cook some delicious and diverse dishes). I have been fortunate to have meet lots of interesting people and experienced a unique and fascinating view of world events. I have a confidence born of demonstrated ability, but I can laugh easily at myself (especially among family and friends) and strive to value all people. I am mature, financially responsible, though I value and nurture my inner child, whose imagination, awe and curiosity inform and energize me constantly.
I am looking for a partner, friend and lover to grow with. Ideally, you will be sophisticated but down to earth, exceptional but humble, cultured, educated, engaged, and self-aware.
