I am moving back to Chicago from the Bay Area on April 22nd!
I have been in the Bay over a year and back to Chicago.... it's time to get out there. My job keeps me busy, but really looking to change that this year, After 7 years with the same tech company I quit my job this february and will be starting a new one that will keep me on the ground and bring me fulfillment. In my past job I was traveling quite often to Austin, Venice, Boulder, Seattle, Irvine, Beverly Hills, NYC . I still plan on visiting Boulder/Denver and Portland to visit with friends and hike. The person I meet will need to be ok with my desire to travel and take weekend get aways. In fact, you are welcome to join me on my adventures.
I have moved around a bit over the last 19 years. I left the south suburbs after I was 18 for school and then headed to Flagstaff Arizona for Grad School and then back to Champaign Illinois for a job and then off to Phoenix, back to Chicago, off to the Bay area and now back to Chicago. Somewhere in there i lived in memphis and alaska during a few summers.
I ran my first marathon in October 2009 in Melbourne, Australia. I ran several other halfs.....but something happened and I put my running on hold. It was like I was forrest gump.....i just stopped running. I am hoping to continue my running hobby but not sure about another marathon. Jury is still out. Im working on this running business one day at a time. I signed up for the Women's Half in Chicago in June....I'm guessing I will WOG it, but I will finish.
I am looking for someone that will be supportive of my fitness goals, but I don't necessarily need a running partner, I'M SLOW. I am not the greatest athlete, rather someone who knows how important it is to find something that keeps me healthy and centered. Running or wogging ( walk/jog) has worked. I like to hike, not extreme hiking, but nice 4-5 mile hikes or quick beach hikes. I am willing to try new sports..except curling--that just seems dumb
This will be a necessary qualification: Man who has the patience to teach me a new activity and push me beyond the limitations of my mind and know just the right time to put a beer in my hand when the whining and complaining gets too much ( instead of getting angry with me
I am looking for someone that adapts to most anyone and enjoys cuddling on the couch or having a few brews at the pub. I like wine tasting and getting dressed up to go out. I like flip flops and sunshine. I need someone that likes dark humor that hops just over "the Line" , Family Guy humor is a must. I am seeking someone who is affectionate, does not shy away from the latest gadgets and can give me a little music education. Show me your geeky side and I'm smitten. I really want to travel more. I travel within the US pretty regularly, but I am looking for more adventure and culture in my life. Ideally I would like to meet someone that would be willing and able to join me. Someone who is well traveled and would feel joy in sharing his passion with me
I'm a bit snarky and I laugh at my own jokes. I swear too much. I love to hear and honor other people's stories. I love to be in love. I love making other's laugh. I am feisty some days with an appetite for life. I appear to be an extrovert with a tough exterior to most people, but the people I am closest to will learn I am very private and affectionate. I love kisses on the forehead and nose. I love peanut butter and apples. I love baseball games and football. I want to go to every major sporting event in the country. I want to find someone to laugh with for the rest of my life that is juvenile and interesting and sweet. I want to visit dublin and drink lots of guinness with the locals. I want someone to come home to mostly, If I can't have the rest
Tip: I like the email exchange on match before meeting someone Those that don't make it to this sentence usually can be spotted by their lack of effort put in their message.
