I consider myself to be a fairly easygoing person that enjoys doing lots of different activities and the simpler things in life. I believe that the person you spend time with is more important than whatever it is you are actually doing together. I believe in the value of hard work and personal responsibility, both on the job and at home, but I also enjoy my relaxation time. Life is all about having the right balance! Most of all, I believe in being there for the people that I care about. When times get tough, you should be able to count on those closest to you. I am proud to say that when faced with very difficult circumstances, I've been able to follow through on this for my family. A lot of my free time is spent taking care of my house and the large yard I have. Much to my initial surprise, I find much enjoyment from simple tasks like pulling weeds, raking or picking up sticks from 1 of the many trees in my yard. Just being outside on a nice day can really brighten my spirits. I also regularly take a line dancing class. This has become important to me for not only the benefits of regular exercise, but also the opportunity to meet new people and listen to music in a fun, energetic setting! I very much enjoy spending time with close friends and family. I also like listening to music, reading, watching a movie/tv, and playing board games. I tend to like smaller, more intimate gatherings of people. I’d rather have a few, truly meaningful friendships than a hundred people I can hang out with but don’t really know that well. That's not to say that I don't enjoy a good party once in a while or going out, I just wouldn't want to do those kinds of things every day. I go for quality over quantity. I apply this same philosophy to most things I do in life. I believe if something’s worth doing, then it’s worth taking the time to do it right. I am looking for someone that can make me laugh with a good sense of humor, but that also has a serious side and follows-through on their commitments, whatever they may be, large or small. I want to feel comfortable around another person, able to talk openly about anything together. I think when the person I'm with makes my day feel better just by seeing them or talking to them, that's a good match. The ability to have fun together during the ordinary course of life is important (even when you’re just pulling weeds!). My hope is to find my new best friend, a person I very much enjoy being around and would consider spending a lifetime getting to know better.
