My self-summary I'm well spoken, ambitious, and love to tinker. I can repair anything. I'm an addict of the intellect. I'm interested in everything and determined to discover the nature of the universe. I love people who can be genuine and I am always willing to tell you the truth. I'm not easily embarrassed or offended, but I am a little awkward with those I don't know. I like to watch people. I think that urban isolationism is scary. I don't wear headphones when walking around the city. I have situational awareness. I do my best to maintain self awareness. What I’m doing with my life I make the interwebs go. Cat wrangling of fellow nerds. When I'm not working, I'm probably reading, enjoying the outdoors, drinking tea, watching some television (yes, I own one, no I'm not addicted to it). I own a telescope and taught Freshman astronomy labs for several years. If you're an aspiring stargazer I might just be your guy. I like to camp, fish, hike, backpack, stargaze, and generally escape into the wilderness. I'm tied to the city, but always trying to get away. I’m really good at Fixing things. Relating to the socially awkward. Discussing philosophy, and then deconstructing said philosophical discussions into ontological stalemate and laughing about it. The first things people usually notice about me I tend to think about what I say and speak carefully. My demeanor makes people take me more seriously than they should. Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food Nearly all Science Fiction. Favorite Authors: Asimov, Clarke, Reynolds, Asher, Niven, Mieville, Lethem, Pohl Just because I didn't list Hesse, Dostoevsky, Joyce, Nietzsche, Keats, Thoreau, Emerson, etc, etc, does not mean that I haven't read them. I'm not defining my tastes by them. I like space opera. Frankly I'm a read-a-holic. I've been reading a book a week since I was 6 years old. Music: Kondo, Shostakovich, Peter Malick, Madeline Peroux, David Grey, Stravinsky, Kronos Quartet, Dvorak, Imogen Heap, Black Keys, Pucifer Also a whole lot of other things, the above is just what's on my Pandora quick mix when I'm working. Food: I like it. When I was a kid I didn't have the option of being picky. I'll eat just about anything that doesn't make me immediately ill. I could eat sushi every day until I keeled over from mercury poisoning. Oh, and I am a coffee snob. Less so a tea snob. The six things I could never do without The Internet. Remember card catalogues? Never again. People that are smarter than me. I spend a lot of time thinking about Morality, society, the future, space and science. I dream of learning to sail. I also dream of escaping and living in the woods for a while. "They (man) were built for life, not for thought. Yes, and he who thinks, what’s more, he who makes thinking his business, he may go far in it, but he has bartered the solid earth for the water all the same, and one day he will drown." On a typical Friday night I am Tucking my daughter into bed. The most private thing I’m willing to admit I didn't complete the last credits of my attempted minor in astronomy because I couldn't stand the required (physics) math. That's shameful. I also ended up with a BS in film production, it's a long story. I'm a closet romantic under the cynicism. (shh, don't tell anyone) I'm a natural introvert who has taught myself to be otherwise. I have secret delusions of grandeur about giving TED talks. Th
