I’ve been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. I want to understand “Why,” and not just “How.” When I was kid, I would read the little instruction booklet for my video games cover to cover before I played them.
I’m originally from Chicago, home of the best pizza in America. I settled in San Francisco because I hadn’t lived on the West Coast yet. I love being able to hike, eat farm to table, ride on the BART (although I wish it ran late), and go to The Layover.
One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen was a baby sea turtle while scuba diving off the coast of Thailand. Second most amazing is my mom’s prime rib roast that we ate this Christmas.
I started my own graphic and web design company. We've been in business for over 11 years! I love working for myself, and I love the freedom my situation provides. Most days I go to work in my pajamas; sometimes I wear a suit when designing a particularly important website.
I try to visit a new country every year. I've knocked 15 or so off the list so far. I've ridden ostriches in South Africa, eaten cricket tacos in Mexico, dived undersea wrecks off of Colombia, partied with gangsters in Ho Chi Minh City, explored caves, climbed volcanoes, and taken risks. I was almost swallowed by a whale shark a few months ago.
I hope to go to Brazil or South Korea next. I should start learning Portuguese now so I’ll be ready in time for the 2016 Olympics.
I'm an excellent graphic designer, if I do say so myself. Beyond the computer, I'm pretty handy with a pencil and paper. I love fixing computers for friends and family. I play a mean game of Scrabble.
I love making my own temaki sushi from time to time, but if it’s cold outside I make a great butternut squash soup. In the summer, I make really awesome carnitas – you gotta broil them after the slow cooker!
I've heard that I have really nice eyelashes. I've never had to ask my physician if Latisse is right for me.
I wonder why everything on the radio has a dubstep drop in it.
I like to think about how to eliminate my known unknowns, and how to uncover my unknown unknowns. I love running up against the borders of my knowledge and then expanding those borders.
