I have spent my life working in careers which have had me traveling the country and the world. Because I was never at home, I never married nor had children. On a recent trip to visit my father in Hilton Head, South Carolina, I observed senior couples still holding hands, kissing, and growing old together--very happily. Even after 40 to 50 years together, they were very much in love and the men would open doors and excort their ladies, take them on dates, and treat them as if it were still a first date-- as a gentleman should!. Chivalry still exists! Just look to our elders. As I observed this, I knew without a shadow of a doubt, this is how I want to spend the second half of my life: with that special girl I can take on first dates for the rest of my life!
I have paid my dues in life, first as a symphony/jazz musician, then as an airline pilot. I am very proud of my accomplishments, but now it's time to lay back and enjoy my life with family, friends, and a special soulmate. I am blessed to have positve, empowering people in my life--some who have gone above and beyond the "call of duty" for me. For this, I am eternally grateful and hope I can always return that devotion when called upon. Although I enjoy the presence of children, I do like to be able to spend some exclusive time with a person. In other words, if we are both off for 3 to 4 days, I would like to be able to pack my bags and leave town at a moments notice.
May everyone on this site be blessed to find that special person and have the courage to contact them! I hope everyone reaches for their dreams. Life is passing by with the blink of an eye. Don't let it pass you by!
