The soft side of me is hopelessly romantic and probably too mushy for some people. The hard side is pragmatic, focused, detail oriented and no BS. I can be totally spontaneous and improvisational while continuing to process people, events and circumstances. I'm an evolving man. My story is not written. My heart opens fast and closes slow. If you love music, that would be a plus. A sense of humor is also a plus, but a serious mind is BIG plus.
I've been in better shape than I'm in now and I'm determined to get back there. I go to the gym everyday. My goal is to get into serious backpacking condition. If you don't like to backpack, that is not a problem for me. We can do other things together but I am going to get fit enough to walk into the middle of nowhere again.
I love the outdoors even though I've spent the last 30 years in a 20x20 box. I love the rain, always have. I could live in Seattle or Thorne Bay, Alaska, no problem. I appreciate anyone who has spent time getting really good at something, no matter what it is. I love working with highly skilled people who have worked a life time to get good at what they do. For me, loyalty and truthfulness are the most important qualities a person can have. I value and honor intellectual property. I believe relationships can overcome problems when the courage exists to meet them head on. I believe in individual effort and collective results. I still miss my father who died in 1982.
Oh... and did I mention I know how to treat a woman with respect. kindness and express appropriate affection? I do. I am polite, clean, I have a life and a career most people can only dream of. I am generous, (I'm often told to a fault). I'll hold every other door for my companion unless she asks me to stop. You might have to tell me twice. ;-)
I am desperately camera shy, mostly because the camera seems to hate me. I've had more than one friend tell me pictures do not capture even a fraction of "who you are". So I don't have a lot of pictures. I am polling friends and associates for more.
