“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of all of those things and still be calm in your heart.” Last year I was gifted this quote by two separate friends because they said it was me… guess that explains a lot to who I am.
I believe that we all create our own story through our thoughts and actions. Therefore, it is really important to me that my one (hello, wherever you are!) be a person that understands the power of intentional living who doesn’t just sit back waiting for the change to come but puts in the work and action in creating the path that he desires.
The life lesson that I have the most gratitude for is learning that happiness is an absolute inside job. Happiness can be shared, which can of course increase another’s happiness, but it is not something that should be sought from another in order to find in you. In other words, if you think that love and relationship will "make" you happy we probably won’t mesh.
I am fortunate to love, love, love my profession and am constantly driven to make things happen professionally that allow me to not just love what I do but to aim toward bigger and better things. This keeps me busy, very busy at times, but stopping (at the drop of a hat if live music is involved) to have fun and adventure, laugh, drink some beers and connect with my people is also a priority for me as these are the really good juicy bits of life!
What I know for sure about my match (my BFF)… He is
assertive without being full of himself,
a peaceful and reciprocal communicator,
a passionate and intimate lover (and I don’t just mean a little),
silly and can laugh to the point of tears every day (bonus points if it happens multiple times a day – because while my profile may seem serious I am always laughing and finding the good and fun in all things.)
driven and goal oriented
supportive and even amused, never threatened, by a woman that can and will get things done - whether it is professionally or with a hammer or drill,
an excellent driver (what can I say, I started driving when I was 8),
drawn to the simple things in life but thoroughly enjoys the finer things – because we can,
Ready, open and willing for more.
