Wow, this reminds me of a project back in the academic days: How to create a accurate verbal yet uber intriguing portrait of yourself in the literary sense when we live in a visual world. I have not been on this site long, but it is pretty evident that what most people claim to be looking for- honesty, intelligence, sincerity, good work ethic, fun loving, humor, blah blah blah comes in a distant second to the portrait the picture paints. The reality is most people have a attractive-ness litmus test in their mind's eye that is the dominate determining factor if those traits ever come into play. That's the dichotomy on online dating, the actual traits that maintain a long term,deep stable connection everybody wants are neutralized by a factor that fades quite quickly. Now by all means, looks and attraction are as essential as sincerity, honesty, etc but the amusing part is not many people want to admit to it. Rationalization, you got to love it. In my opinion, what most people, my self included, are looking for is someone to be there when you sick, pick up a relative at the airport when you can make it, not order food that you don't like out of arrogance or spite, walk with you and not in front of you. Basically, someone that "gets" you on every level. Someone to share all the splendid things life has to offer as well as the not so splendid things we all encounter. So if you're truly looking for those aforementioned traits and are willing-wanting not to take a risk but a chance, I'm all in.........
