(P.S. that *IS* my actual age, height, weight, marital status, ... etc, and the photo's are recent with dates. There'd be no point in starting off with anything less than total honesty, would there ? And although people say I look more handsome, smarter and younger in person, than in my photo's, what can I do ? I'm just not very photogenic :-P...Cheers !)
The story so far: I never felt constrained by typical typecasting - blazed my own trails. Originally Australian, and came to the US via 8yrs in Asia through my working career. I've lived here for 14years now, and my friends say I have an English accent, while my family think I sound like an American now - even when I say "G'day !" seems I can't win that one ;-)I'm not a typical 'Silicon Valley geek' - Ok, I'm a Distinguished Engineer at a leading tech company, and I am the CEO of my own startup. And yes, I'm a prolific innovator, a leader in my field, and take my career very seriously. But I still rely on my heart, intuition as much as logic. I feel just at home in a wetsuit, jeans and sweater, jogging shoes, ski bib, or suit and tie. Insist on keeping a healthy balance and enthusiasm for life, fun, family and work : ski, jog, snowboard, bike, scuba, swim, race cars, golf, surf, sail, salsa, skateboard, and like to get out there daily, one way or another.
Never take myself too seriously... hopefully not too serious up to this point ;-) I'd say I'm passionate, spontaneous, with a selfless sense of humour, and a generous laugh. Others tell me I'm exceptionally patient, and a loving father. I enjoy sharing-with and teaching kids new things (except racing and salsa obviously) and yes: I have the desire, energy and resources to have more children. You may be surprised to know I'm a regular volunteer at nearby hospital, a volunteer student mentor, and generally a "glass half-full" kinda optimist. Not a bad cook, and good with my hands on cars, the house - work tirelessly until things are done right: rarely settle for "good enough". Live to learn more, improve, and achieve more - seems the older you get, the more you can accomplish - it's an exciting time and place to be alive !
What else ... 6'1", 200lbs, very fit, strong, athletic, non-smoker, blessed with great health, but still enjoy indulging e.g in great food, fine wines, live music concerts, performance arts, Jazz, and Opera. Not really into hiking, but enjoy camping. In Winter, tend to migrate to the mountains for the snow sports: boarding, skiing. In Summer, head towards the water: scuba diving, fishing with kids, swimming, sailing and surfing. But always keen to try new things and embrace the moment - Let's Go !
Well traveled, through Europe, Pacific, Asia, and used to be fluent in a couple of other languages(Mandarin is one). I still travel in my career, but prefer: a weekend at Carmel BB, the vineyards and restaurants of Sonoma/Napa, dress-up for a night at the Opera, or ride with me on my Ducati up the Mountain roads to the peak.
My partner should likewise be unconventional. You are intelligent, strong and yet self-aware, you love and respect your parents, but you've chosen your own paths in life. You may be pretty, but when I look in your eyes I want to immediately see there's so much more to you than your outward appearance, and even see much more going on than other people see. Yes, you also have a zest for life, and a desire to broaden your horizons, but I'm looking for my equal (or better if I'm lucky), so be a woman of warmth and substance, be prepared to speak directly, and openly. Be prepared for the spontaneous, keep an open mind. Be able to express your heart, and show you can follow it. Its ok if we don't have much in common at first, but I expect we both revel in sharing what we love, as well as what we struggle-with, without hesitation - you will be the center of my attention, and I will be there for you. The adventure of life is meant for two to share, and I'm looking for a worthy partner.
