Starting to date again in my 40s was an eye opening experience but gradually have become comfortable with it. These days I find myself wanting a "partner in crime" who is my best friend and I am extremely attracted to. I find myself enjoying those hugs and kisses a lot. I am at a point in my life where I am comfortable with myself and have never been more confident and happy with who I am. Of course I am still learning and occassionally get schooled in some aspect of my life, but life would be boring if that didn't exist. I am ready to share my life with that special woman and believe I have a good idea of what I want but will be patient in finding her. I admit I will likely fall hard when I find her. I consider myself someone who has grown a lot in the last 10 years and buy into that concept where one will get the relationship right the second time around. I consider myself gentle spirited, very easy to get along with. I am very much a compromiser in order to prevent and work through differences that relationships have. I may be too serious at times so that's ok if you tell me to chill out! But I have also learned to enjoy life and have fun, not taking myself too seriously. I think I've found a good balance between the two.
I consider myself initially a little quiet and reserved until I feel comfortable with someone and then, watch out, as I love to joke around and tease - not in mean or embarassing way. I am a very curious person as I am still learning about life and will challenge the status quo. I consider myself a young 48 in mind and body as I work hard taking care of myself, trying to eat healthy and exercising as much as possible and am attracted to the same. I try to surround myself with quality people and have had some great role models with people in their 70's, 80's, and 90's having good health and great attitude. I want that same quality of life well into my 80's or 90's.
I am attracted to a woman who has a gentle spirit and is passionate about life. Someone who is intelligent, fun and enjoys new experiences. She is really just a kid at heart, but also strong and independent possibly because she has survived adversity and come out stronger from that. She also enjoys hugs and kisses and is comfortable with that even in the public. She is an excellent communicator and is willing to work through differences relationships eventually seem to have. She may have some traditional skills in the kitchen too so we can try new recipes. But she is also not scared to get her hands dirty as we work on home projects together. She may also enjoy dancing and be patient with me who would like to be more comfortable out on the dance floor.
I have 2 sons in college that I enjoy spending time with and work hard planning events together. Because my sons are very important to me, it is important that my match feels comfortable around them and they around her. I welcome her children as I enjoy children of all ages and think they keep us young!
Even though I have small town roots and I have not travelled much either in the US or never internationally, I feel I have been exposed to other cultures in Bloomington Normal working with Indians. I truly enjoy my friendships with them and would love to visit India. I would also enjoy travelling in the US as well as anywhere internationally. An educational trip to Washington D.C would be so much fun. I have also done quite a bit of camping in my past and would enjoy taking that up again. I enjoy weekend excursions to St.Louis, Chicago, and Madison.
