Hello out there! I'll just get right to it. I'm looking for a 30ish-40ish yr old man who loves travel, but works hard, is about 6' tall or taller, not religious, and is educated and athletic - guess I am a bit picky. I don't think that the "opposites attract" thing works well long term, so I'm looking for someone who has fairly similar traits. I am sarcastic and straight-forward. I can dish it, but I can take it too. I laugh a lot. I can talk to anyone, about anything, and for a long time. If I like something, I am super passionate about it. I'm honest to a fault, liberal, and pretty upbeat.
The best times in my life have been my travels and the experiences I have had have shaped and defined me. I need to explore! Nothing is as exciting to me as exploring a new country. Over the last year or so, I've been to 4 countries in Africa, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Argentina, Uruguay, and I just got back from an 11 day expedition cruise in Antarctica. I'm off to Korea and China this spring and Belgium, England, and Greece this summer. I find it difficult to just sit on a beach during a vacation; I need culture and wild experiences. Some of my past travels include yachting thru the fiords of Norway, eating crocodile in Sydney, surfing in Costa Rica, rolling down a NZ mountain in a plastic ball, and riding an elephant bareback in the Thai jungle.
My brief life history: After growing up in the Bay Area, I went to UCLA for a degree in Design. After college, I moved to Calistoga to attend The Culinary Institute of America to become a professional pastry chef. I graduated and moved to a little cottage on the beach in Hermosa, where I did all sorts of jobs in the culinary world...I was a pastry chef at the Ritz, ran a cooking school, and sold gourmet foods to restaurants. I am a huge food geek.
I've been living in SF since 2008 and usually spend part of my weekends in Sonoma. I still bake a lot, but currently work in strategy for a well known global retail company.
