After much poking and prodding, I'm trying this online dating thing. But grab your favorite beverage, I think I've hit the the word limit!
My friends would describe me as someone who is fun but can be serious when I need to be. They would say I'm very dependable, the go-to guy when things hit the fan. They'd also describe me as observant, often overlooked, but the one who gets the job done at work, amongst friends, and to his partner. I'm observant and attentive to those little details and surprise my partner with little thoughtful gifts or taking them to a special place. I love to hold hands.
Respect and gratitude are important things to me. Gratitude is important too as I appreciate those who recognize when others have sacrificed for them and give back or pay the gift forward. I like to be surrounded by positive people and I have a pet peeve for people who incessantly complain and do nothing about it. I am a jokester / prankster too. I love to tease my friends and partner and play practical jokes on occasion.
I love athletics and like to stay fit. Perhaps thats why I've been able to maintain a young appearance (no one believes me when I tell them my age). I've always played sports growing up and have recently joined a Crossfit gym. I'm currently giving the Zone plan a try, though admittedly I've fallen off the wagon...errr...several times :) I love to play tennis and if you are good at it, bonus points for you! I don't enjoy long runs, but I have run 3 marathons. Things I also love are hiking, camping, and fishing---though you'll quickly learn my allergies can get off the hook if its high pollens season ;P
I am certified "handy man" (according to my friends) and am very good with car repair. Can I bore you by showing you my tool collection and welder? :p I am currently restoring a classic BMW.
I enjoy dining out (which makes the above more difficult!). I prefer a hole in the wall over a fancy, overpriced, snobby restaurant any day. I love farmer's markets too. Some of my favorite foods in rank order are Vietnamese, Mediterranean, Greek, Korean (bonus points if you can stomach Gopchang jeongol), any kind of steamed or raw seafood, and Mexican (I love a good street taco, fresh churros, and carnitas cooked in lard---the way its supposed to be cooked).
For me, the important attributes in a future partner are:
- Compassionate and giving
- Works hard and always striving to improve
- Education is important to me, but please do not be one of those people who rubs it into others who are not as educated as you
- Positive thoughts and speech (not a whiner)
- Knows that a relationship takes two people to make it work
- Clean (you can let it go for a few days)
- Enjoys activities, work out, sports, etc., but can be a homebody too
