Ready? This is going to be pretty scary for some of you. Where to start?
Yes, it's not traditional. We are better roommates than romantic partners and we're both out there looking around. There's no drama and it's mutual. We'll always be fantastic friends (and yes, I might talk about you with her) but there's really nothing to worry about because we won't get in the way of any outside romantic relationships that either of us have
Oh, and I have a daughter - she's adorable and I will do anything for her.
You're still here? What are you doing? Run!
Let's talk about who I am, and what I'm looking for. This is a work in progress so bear with me. Hopefully I won't have too many grammatical mistakes.
I am a thoughtful guy interested in meeting new friends, activity partners, and maybe something more. You should be curious about the world, and have something you want to share with others. I believe everyone has something to offer. Even if we're not attracted to one another, I'm still interested in YOU.
I think you'll find that I'm a committed person who can get along with just about anyone, enjoys life, and is a good partner.
I'm looking for someone who is OK with a kid - I have a daughter who's under 2 now - and can be flexible in the time commitment that a child requires. If you're OK with incorporating her into your life then all the better - I'm of the opinion that the more people in her life who love her, the better.
Let's see, what else? I could say I like "music" or "the outdoors" but that's so freaking generic, so let's get specific. Here are 10 albums I would want with me if I went all Cast Away on the world:
1. The Cure: Disintegration
2. Radiohead: OK Computer
3. The Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
4. Radiohead: Kid A
5. Sufjan Stevens: Come On Feel The Illinoise
6. Tori Amos: Scarlet's Walk
7: Ani DiFranco: Knuckle Down
8: 10,000 Maniacs: Our TIme In Eden
9: Jay-Z: The Black Album
10: The Beatles: The White Album
11: The Grateful Dead: American Beauty (yes I know I only said 10, but as I was coming up with the Movies list below I thought I needed to add this for completion)
Yes, I realize Radiohead shows up twice, and it's sort-of sorted by male / female, but I swear that's not intentional, except for the Radiohead part.
Movies, you say? I like movies too:
2. Bram Stoker's Dracula
3. The Fifth Element
4. Episode V
5. Fight Club
6. The Silence of the Lambs
7. American Beauty
10. Twelve Monkeys
This list is much harder. There are a ton of movies I like, but unlike music, you can't just put them on repeat and not get sick of them. Not a lot of romantic comedies in there, sorry, but I am a guy after all. I will watch and enjoy them, but usually not more than once.
You should also be mature, financially stable, and have a good sense of humor.
You should be open to new things and new people. I don't like clubbing, but I'm OK if you want to go clubbing with your friends (just don't drag me along please). I do like coffee shops, conversation, book clubs, neighborhood parties, cookouts, hiking, and road trips. I'm OK with you not liking any of these individually, but we need to have at least one of them in common I think.
Match is saying I have 637 characters remaining. I'm going to leave them empty right now and maybe come back later to add some stuff in. If you made it this far, send me a wink or an email and maybe we can have a conversation.
