Wow! I am dumbfounded at how difficult it is to start a description of yourself. What a complex question... I mean how should you start? Where should you start? WHY should you start?! He he. Well if you ever want a complicated answer to a simple question and explore it?s endless possibilities until you, (a) Want to shoot me, or (b) yourself, then you've found your man!
People have described me as a good listener, funny, measured, balanced (fools he he), patient, diplomatic,..stubborn, moody (wince). In general I prefer depth to breadth, quality to quantity. I try to find the humor in almost anything, and use humor a lot in my interactions with others; sometimes people laugh, sometimes they laugh AND point, and sometimes, they just blink. I like to hold a persons gaze when I talk to them, and my eyes are what people tend to notice first,...then they notice me walking into things like lamp posts, walls, children, traffic. I can be very very clumsy, and that's why I?m not a gymnast or an acrobat.
On my time off I like to be outdoors during the day (big morning person here). Love biking, hiking, kayaking. I'm an avid reader and love the classics, history, anything on psychology (I really enjoy Carl Jung), and philosophy. Road trips are one of my favorite things to do, especially with people I love. I also love being home, especially in the late evening or rainy days and enjoy a movie or my xbox. Love cooking projects, baking. Home improvement projects as well...though I am not that good at them...and rarely escape unscathed. In most things I tend to be more about the company and the conversation than the activity. I don't generally like to go to the movies on a first date since it doesn't really give me the chance to have a conversation and get to know the person I'm with. I'm not a club/bar person at all.
I am a very content, happy person. Worked in the health care field now for 6 years and am happy with it. I am very family oriented. I have two wonderful nephews that I love very very much and a wonderful sister and parents. I have a best friend who I have known for many years and that I love very much, she has been a companion, a soul mate and a guide. My life is good. For all these things I am very thankful.
I guess the only thing missing is a partner to share it all with. Someone who is looking in the same direction, accompanying you on the march. I tend to like people who are curious, self regulating,intuitive, self driven, and self aware; people who ask questions, explore, come to conclusions, are fair yet assertive, and thoughtful. I respect individuality and self reliance as well, all masculine qualities that I find very attractive. Intelligence and sense of humor is very important. My values could be labeled as old fashioned when it comes to relationships. I believe that a partner should be communicative, involved, and supportive of me and the things I love, and I am willing to do the same. I am a firm believer that people should become friends first and let the rest develop. In the long term, I know relationships do take effort from both parties, and I highly value communication.
