I'm new to this online dating and profile writing concept. Typically, when I meet a girl I don't have to give her a paragraph of biographical information before she decides whether or not to talk to me. However, considering how successful these dating sites supposedly are, perhaps that should be my new method of meeting people. So this is what I'll tell them...
My name is Benjamin, but most people call me Ben even though I almost always introduce myself as Benjamin. Weird how that works. I have lived in Los Angeles my entire life and I'm not sure if I am proud or sad about that. I grew up in the valley, went to college at USC and now live on the west side. That's not to say I've never been anywhere though. In fact, come November, after I visit South Korea, I'll have been to 50 countries. That's a super boastful way of saying I like to travel. I've learned a lot from my travels and I hope to continue going places until I can no longer walk. That's a boastful way of saying I can currently walk.
I used to work in the music industry and while I do not anymore, music is still a big part of my life. Nothing really makes me happier than discovering an incredible new band. I respect the oldies, but I have a bit of an obsession with finding whatever is the next big thing. I listen to basically all types of music from hip hop to country, but I do tend to be a sucker for just a well crafted and sung singer/songwriter tune.
Through the past few years craft beer has become a bit of a hobby of mine and as I'm a firm believer in the "do what you love and the money will come" concept, I now work for a small craft brewery. I absolutely love my job and sometimes it makes me a very busy person, but I'm never busy with something that I don't think is fun.
Finally, something about me that is also a something that should be about you is that I am Jewish. I'm by no means a religious person and I have plenty of issues with the concept of organized religion, but, nonetheless, I was raised in a conservative Jewish family and while I don't celebrate all the holidays and my concept of keeping kosher is pretty weird, I can't imagine spending my life with someone who didn't share a similar connection with Jewish traditions and history.
Other than that, I'm just looking for a girl who can be my best friend. Someone to travel with. Someone to listen to music with. Someone to drink a beer with.
