I'm originally from Jax Beach, Florida. Yes, I do miss the sun and the beach life every day I'm up here. I've lived in the area for 2 years now, but have only actually been here about 10 months. Luckily during those 10 months I've found what I enjoy about the NW. The Olympic Peninsula is a great get away, and most weekends I'd prefer it over Seattle. I've always come back to the island immediately wanting to go back out. The best part besides the surf out there? No cell phone reception, therefore no work calling you in on a weekend! It's good for the soul to get away from the 3g world now and again.
Aside from my nomadic tendencies, I will sometimes hang in and lounge about. Netflix is one of those things you will find yourself missing overseas. I also have videogame kicks from time to time, even though good surf will always trump that tendency.
I've found I can get along with just about anyone, hanging out in just about anywhere.
