"MY MOM WOULD ADORE YOU!": I've gotten that a lot lately (like my entire life) and I'm trying to think of it as a compliment. But it beats the hell out of me why I'd lose your attention to some Raider-loving, leather-wearing motorcycle hoodlum. I'm thinking about growing a goat-tee and getting a tattoo. Well, okay, maybe not.... TALL, DARK AND HANDSOME WITH THE SMARTS: I'm a native of the Peninsula and after becoming grossly over-educated at three schools with good football and basketball teams, I'm glad to be back, living and working right here in the Bay Area. I'm 6'1", a healthy 190 pounds, and consider my various pairs of ultra-thin glasses as fashion accessories, notwithstanding that they are necessities by heredity and a hazard of my occupation, going blind reading small print and death by a thousand paper cuts. THE WARRIOR-POET: People have described me as intelligent, witty, and sensitive, but also down-to-earth, loyal, and honest. A square? Maybe, but I think I'm evolving toward an octagon. I work out because I want to keep smacking golf balls a long ways and enjoy my favorite restaurants and bottles of wine with no remorse. I'm a member of a couple of private clubs, but cannot live without my daily dose of the DailyKos, the Daily Show and Rachel Maddow. I love my job, but I maintain a good work-life balance, favoring the gym, a nice meal and a movie, a nice walk at the mall or the park, a Giants game, a recital, a musical, the museum, the gallery, Barnes & Nobles, a nice quiet night at home, or the Sunday New York Times and fresh OJ. I enjoy the occasional night out with friends, but I'm not the one with the clever lines or the dance moves, so feel free to drop me a note if you like what you see.
BUT I STILL / HAVEN'T FOUND / WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR (Extra Points If You Can Name That Tune): Let's see... seeking an attractive / fun / sexy (it's a state of mind) / well-read / well-versed / open-minded / curious / Democrat / intelligent / worldly / all of the above / some of the above / a little of the above you who enjoy breakfast at Stacks, sushi for lunch, mid-afternoon Peet's or Jamba Juice runs, evening cocktails, dinners from all corners of the globe, great wine, humor, good conversations, and the many options available to us in the course of or in the wake of a week. Such as? Hmm, a stroll through a museum or art gallery on a Saturday afternoon, or a Wednesday lunch break. The Tuesday night 10 o'clock show at the movies, and a critique at a diner somewhere, over pie and coffee, into the wee hours. A Thursday night at the MOMA, or staying in, beneath a warm blanket on a loveseat, a stack of rediscovered favorite CDs, his and her magazines, and two glasses of wine. A Sunday afternoon at Santana Row or Union Square, where I can entrust a whole pay check to you and have you take me shopping (and that I would actually wear the stuff you pick out). An inspired Saturday morning, where you pack a bag and hop in the car or the plane with me, to somewhere we read about in last week's Sunday morning paper. In essence, I hope that you are 100% a woman -- feminine, kind, warm, affectionate, caring, intelligent, loving, alluring and all of her God-given attributes. You never know when or where you'll meet "The One," but that's the general idea here, isn't it? May we all find bliss and happiness
