I am new to the area and for the most part I am settled in out here in Ft Lauderdale. So far I am enjoying the area, but am definitely going to have to get used to the heat. The last 8 years had me moving all over the world a lot and mostly in places where dating wasn't an option. (Africa, Korea, Thailand, Iraq, Afghanistan). The new job I am taking over will require a good deal of overseas travel (mostly Central America) but I will be living a much more normal life and I am looking forward to it. My career and travel are what have kept me single for much of my life and sometimes I was the cause of that as I would not put full effort into some relationships that I did have knowing I would move or be living overseas again soon. I have taken this time to get my goals and priorities straight and am now hoping to find a woman who is in a similar position in life. I love the beach and being out on the water. I used to race cars and am a bit of a gear head. The gym and running are a big part of my life and I am running the Marine Corps marathon in October. I am a really healthy eater. Family and friends are very important to me, being gone so much really emphasized that to me. I hope that if nothing else that this place will provide me a way to meet people.
