I feel like I straddle two social worlds: the land of the yuppies w an outgoing attitude, amibition, athleticism but a sometimes-reserved demeanor AND the land of bohemians seeking creative outlets, constantly intellectually curious and searching for meaning (and lots of fun).
I'm most passionate about art, culture, politics and urban planning/design though I like to think i'm never heavy-handed in my opinions. I think most of my friends believe I'm the funniest in those small circles. If you like what you're reading, hit me up and I'd love to learn about you.
For me, a major part of what gives me purpose in life is work. I think work is the single biggest opportunity to making a meaningful contribution to society. Finding a field that addressed creative, social and environmental concerns while affording a comfortable lifestyle is a tall order. With a lot of blood, sweat and tears I found that in city planning and the development of sustainable communities. I've been in this same field for 10 years and remain passionate despite all of the political battles. I'm beyond the years of "finding myself" and direction and am very glad for it.
As a baseline, my perfect date would identify with a lot of what I've just said. If you're fun-loving and passionate about culture, etc. that's awesome. But pretty please, be physically fit and into the outdoors too and we may just hit it off.
