Essay:
I'm a fun, caring, and passionate surgical resident trying to balance an intense work schedule with a personal life that's both adventurous and meaningful. I've lived in a variety of places, but grew up predominantly in Canada and New Jersey. Last year, I finally decided to take the plunge and move to Southern California after finishing med school in Boston. Despite endless hours cramming random medical factoids into my brain, my most lasting memories are those from backpacking through France and Italy, learning to surf, creating the Office video parodies with classmates, learning broken Spanish through necessity, meeting my childhood hero Patrick Stewart after a NYC showing of MacBeth, and indulging in slow brunches with friends. Ultimately, my experiences count only as much as whom I'm able to share them with. You: a kind person, who is inspired by excellence and passionate about what you do. You have a not-so-hidden nerdy side, and a talent for spontaneity and adventure. You're not afraid of deeper conversations about "life, the universe, and everything", but also know the appropriate time to kick back, breath in, and marvel at the world around us.
