on the outside, she wants to be independent and free of having to lean on someone else. living life her own way without anything to hold her back is what she desires. however, I know deep inside she wants to be rescued like in the fairy tale and find the security and stability in my arms. she is a beautiful dichotomy wrapped in a single package. I don't listen to what she says, but what she means. I look for clues in the way she sits, how she breathes, the tone of her voice, and the expression of her eyes as she searches for the right words to say. there's nothing special about me, but through her eyes, she sees something more. she tells me a line from the movie as good as it gets, "you make me want to be a better man." that is what I am to her. she can see herself wanting to be better because of me and that is what really makes her happy.
