Hi, there! I am laid-back and enjoy being with people who make me laugh. After several years away working and finishing grad school, I am back in the area and looking to meet new people. My family and close friends are very important to me. I am a classically-trained musician, and in the past I have enjoyed teaching as a middle and high school band director, performing on piano and trombone, and more recently, writing about music, musicians and culture.
I like to make others laugh, although it's often at my own expense! Despite extensive ballet training, I am still a klutz and once broke my foot while getting up to answer the phone. I like to play pool, even though I'm pretty lousy - I have dreams of being a hustler. As you can see, I'm kind of a dork, but I've never worried too much about what others think of me.
I wouldn't say I have a "type," but there are definitely certain things I look for in a guy, especially honesty, intelligence, and a great sense of humor! According to my last fortune cookie, I am never bitter, deceptive or petty :o). I consider myself a loyal, trusting and very independent person. As much as I like doing my own thing, there's nothing better than sharing time with someone you really connect with. Ideally, I prefer to be with someone who treats me like a lady, but also respects me as an equal.
