As soon as I open my mouth, you'll know where I'm from. I say things like "seltza" and "Lawng Guyland," but I promise, I don't know Amy Fisher and I'm not from the North Shore. Didn't you ever hear Billy Joel say that you can either date a rich girl from the North Shore or a cool girl from the South Shore? He was right about that! But as I learned, there is only so much you can do in a little beach town in Eastern Long Island, so I moved to Brooklyn to make grandiose things happen for myself. Let's just say I'm still working on that!
By day, I manage a kid's hair salon in Manhattan and get to witness parents cry over haircuts that are a millimeter too short and have my hairdressers threaten to call the police on me- but it's okay, just gives me more material for my night role of writing bitterly sarcastic short stories about life in New York City.
When you first meet me, you'll see me as sweet, well mannered and the kind of girl that you'd want to bring home to mom. Get to know me more and you'll also learn that I'm snarky, sarcastic and love to tease (but don't worry, I can take it- or rather, prefer it if you tease me in return.) Are you looking for someone giving? If I care about you, I'm the most generous person you'll ever meet. Just be honest with me and make me smile.
My family has always been important to me, I'm the oldest of four kids and my parents have been happily married for 26 years. Most women fear they will end up like their mothers when they grow up, but I don't worry about that, I already know I'm exactly like my dad. He loves making up nicknames for everyone he meets, and like me, can be neurotic at times. I grew up with my cousins as my closest friends, and although we have all gone our separate ways now, we can still get together on holidays and do j?ger bombs on holidays hiding behind the bushes from our elderly aunts.
I love to learn as much as a possibly can (my friends call me "google" because they'd rather have me look it up and learn 12 more things than they actually wanted to know than do it themselves.) and I read on my long commutes to work every day. I also love to laugh and have fun, and would be just as happy sitting in a crappy bar as I am at a Broadway show or a fancy restaurant.
I'm full of paradoxes: morbidly funny and painfully serious, outgoing but secretly shy, a homebody who moved from home as early was possible. There is so much to learn about me, and I can guarantee it will be surprising at every turn.
I'm looking for someone who is grounded and stable, but also loves to have fun. Someone who knows the value of a hard days work and isn't afraid to ask for help when they need it- there can only be one of us who is terribly stubborn! Someone who understands how important family is, but also isn't too influenced by what is expected of them. A man who isn't afraid to admit he has big dreams, but also knows that there are realities that sometimes have to come first.
Are you ready to meet someone who will change your life? I know I am!
