I'm a good mix of seriousness and goofy, laid-back and adventurous. There's not a person I don't want to meet, or a place I don't want to see. I enjoy the outdoors, books, music (I was raised by musicians), making up my own words to songs, going to the dentist (true story), and perusing the Midtown Specs aisles. I love dressing up for a night out just as much as I love camping in a tent for a whole weekend. I want someone who enjoys those things, but also has their own personality that I can learn from and have fun with.
The two most important things in my life are my faith and my family. Both are my rock. I am looking for someone who has that same mentality.
I helped open a KIPP high school, teaching 9th grade Rhetoric and Composition. While I loved my kiddos, I don't love 70-90 hour work weeks, so I'm currently pursuing my master's in Child Life. In college I worked as a make-up artist for a large company, and immediately upon graduating I ventured out to Colorado to become a rafting guide. The juxtaposition of those two jobs and lifestyles describes me pretty perfectly. A little girly, a little artsy, and a little earthy.
Things I can't live without: Patty Griffin, chapstick, a good Bloody mary, the color green, Mexican Food, a good book, mountains, a piano, Chacos, sunshine and, most importantly — hope, creativity, family and love.
Things I can live without: Sushi, Las Vegas, wisdom teeth, Maroon Five, birds, Tupperware parties, sweater vests, and people who think they are more important than others.
