I have a strong affinity for the outdoors, especially being near water. I was brought up to respect the environment. I would say it is a core value, but pragmatically, not politically. I chose a career in environmental engineering as a result.
Autumn is my favourite time of year, followed by Spring...(But Alan...Spring doesn't follow Autumn, Winter does.) Hmm...yes, such is life. So lets go skiing and make the best of it.
I am very loyal, faithful, and dependable. I place a great deal of importance on honesty and integrity. While I generally take things seriously in my work life, I generally leave it at work. Being a professional, however, there will be the occasional business travel and work weekend (see loyal, faithful and dependable above), but it is not my M.O. and I would rather spend my weekends relaxing or doing things with you.
I enjoy being social and doing lots of activities, but I keep a circle of closer friends and need downtime to recharge. Depth in relationships, rather than breadth, is important to me.
I have an offbeat sense of humor and can be mischievous at times. I know how to iron a shirt. Not only can I change a lightbulb, I can install dimmer switches. I love most animals, though I have a personal hate on for urban raccoons just now.
I am interested in meeting somebody that doesn't take themselves too seriously, who is open to learning, sharing adventure and growth. And if you like films, well I "TIFF" every year and enjoy European and Asian cinema. Books? I gravitate mostly to history, but always follow up on fiction recommendations from friends.
You have an enthusiasm for camping and the wilderness, as otherwise you will never truly know my soul. You have a heavy brain and a light heart, an easy smile, and a sense of renewable wonder and appreciation for this thing called Life...*especially* when it knocks you on your. You might even have an inner geek that breaks out unexpectedly from time to time because you get excited about the things you love. You don't harbour secrets because you know that erodes trust and prevents you from being known. Like me, you have no regard for sarcasm as you know it to be veiled disrespect. You seek the good and the positive, substantively.
