I'm somewhere between a die-hard romantic and a vehemently pragmatic realist, which puts me in some sort of existential or at least romantic limbo. What that really means is that I still believe there is someone out there, perhaps here, who truly feels like a perfect match -- with all the chemistry, passion, friendship and deep mutual understanding that implies.

So for the candid part; I'm here to find a serious relationship, not a buddy and not a hookup. Doesn't mean rushing into anything -- just that I hope it goes somewhere rather than back to this site. 'Cause this is fun and all, but at some point the shopping-for-companionship thing gets a bit silly.

I love skiing, any new or interesting music, surfing, silly movies, running, time with my friends, ridiculously serious books, mountain biking, politics, goofy people, travel, integrity, more travel, my mom -- she rocks, character, women who are comfortable being women and not men or little girls, hiking, deep conversations, sushi, wine and pretty much anything new or amusing. Did I mention skiing?

Beyond the basics of mutual attraction, there is "The List". My experience with The List is that it seems like a good idea until you meet someone you can really fall for, and then it's all bunk. So it all comes down to chemistry -- physical, emotional, intellectual chemistry. All of it. I'd like to say, "no baggage", but everyone has baggage. So let's keep it in the carry-on size. Of course, if you ski, that helps ;)
