Well, for starters, I think I should make a comment about Match.com. I honestly felt that this forum may have been a bit cheesy as a route to go meet someone, but after digging a little deeper, I can actually see some value in its use. As is for most, I find it kinda difficult to elevate myself in terms of how I see myself, but I'll give it a try. I feel that modesty reveals true qualities in a person and so that's the approach I'll take :) The truth is, I am not perfect, I have flaws, I am not a genius, but I do okay with the education I have and the progress I've made throughout life. I can't tell you that I'm charming, funny, sensitive, romantic and engaging. But I can tell you that I'm always striving for these qualities in myself and tend to hope to see it in others. I think most people have a dual nature to them, both introverted and extroverted. It truly depends on the audience and environment that they're in; in order to display their most comfortable aspects as a person. So I don't set expectations too highly based on pictures and descriptions as it's only a launching pad for the necessary -- a physical encounter. One thing I value highly is education. Following that, I really appreciate honesty, integrity, and overall balance in a person. I'm latin (parents were born in the Dominican Republic), so there are some parts of me that can be traditional--such as in how I think women should be courted and treated properly. But being that I was born in the U.S. (New York), I also hold the view that one's dating & relationship habits, etc. need to match the times. I thrive being with someone that can put up with my changing nature...meaning sometimes I like to be indoors, doing the typical (kicking back, watching movies, talking...becoming more intimate.) But then I also like to be out and about experiencing the world. Be that locally by simply going to the movies, having dinner, going dancing and then a walk on the beach, or it can be through long-distance travel getting to know new cultures, languages and foods. I am s stern believer that each individual designs him or herself to what they'd like to be and so I place a lot of emphasis in always finding ways to improve myself. So there you have it...In short, I'm a work in progress with the understanding that perfection isn't attainable.
