I'm a journalist and have been living in California for the past 25 years. I recently returned from a cross-country trip to New York with a few stops in ND, Minneapolis, and Chicago. I have family on Long Island and spent the fall on the eastern end of the island in (where I was born). I spent the summer in Bismarck cruising down the Missouri River in a canoe, getting fitted for a genuine Stetson hat at the North Dakota State Fair, and fixing everything imaginable on my sister's house, which I determined needs a resident handyman (sorry, sis, I'm outa here...) Really enjoyed Sirius/XM satellite radio, especially the comedy and blues channels, as I cruised along the interstate. Update: After spending several weeks at my parents' house in Southampton in September, then camping and fishing on the beach at Montauk, I drove to Louisville, KY, where I had an October layover getting to know that charming old city and looking at beautiful tracts of land in the surrounding counties (didn't buy anything, though). I drove back to California in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with my friends and to help one of my clients with a revision to her book. Just as it was done, I had to return to New York suddenly to be with my father one last time on the final leg of his journey through life. As the journalist in the family, I was called upon to write his obituary, something I had been dreading for years. I felt comfort, nevertheless, in knowing I spent a good amount of time with him last summer. Am now back in CA living in San Dimas working as senior news editor of a high-tech trade magazine. Looking for a new friend for movie dates, barbecues, kayaking, and local travel adventures. I'm looking for someone who is compassionate, sensitive, and creative who is attractive but not self conscious about it and who is not blatantly materialistic. Enjoy the outdoors, biking, movies, concerts, better restaurants, and, most of all--the blues.
