I've done things in the past that are considered a little unconventional, like flying small aircraft, skydiving, and bungee jumping, but now lean more toward things like riding bicycles on the local metro park bike trails, pistol shooting and off-road driving. Last year was the first time I tried off roading in a Jeep, and I've been hooked ever since. I'm talking about riding in a 2012 Jeep, over rocks, sand dunes and between trees and steep hills that require skill and a little calculation. There is a little mud at times, but no Yankee Lake Truck Night style mud pits where I go! My first official Jeep Jamboree was last fall, in the Laurel Highlands of PA, where we were taken on different trails and evaluated by Jeep Jamboree USA sanctioned guides over several days. We hit the hills and trails by day, but ate in the 5 Star resort's top rated restaurant and slept in luxury at night! It was so much fun that I registered for 3 during this year's (2013) season, with two in the mountains of PA and one in the Gateway to the Cumberlands. And then there's the once a month - at least - outing with my fellow members and families of Northeast Ohio 4x4, at Southington Off Road Park. Canoeing around the small lake I live on while watching the wildlife is another past time, and I'd like to try out kayaking sometime to explore some more lakes and streams. I love the OBX! You don't have to try everything I want to do, and I've been known to change my mind or be persuaded by an irresistible smile. I do love to travel!
I'm not perfect and I'm not looking for perfection. No Ken looking for Barbie, here. I am usually very slow to anger, unless somebody presents a threat to a loved one, level headed and logical... which comes in handy when you've been in a position of authority in the electrical part of the construction industry. I have no problem putting a guy in his place on the job site, but am uncharacteristically shy and stumble on my words when first meeting a woman that I'm attracted to. A very good sense of humor is an absolute must in my match, since I love to laugh, joke around and have fun. I'm playful once I warm up to a woman. My match should be comfortable around children, in particular my two toddler aged granddaughters. I'm not hard to please, but do enjoy pleasing somebody who is special to me. Mutual attraction and chemistry are tricky things to attain, but I'm willing to keep looking for it as long as it takes. Music is an important and appreciated art to me, especially since my son and daughter-in-law are gifted pianists and pipe organists. Concerts and live theater are favorites of mine, however, going to the drive-in, movie theater or watching a movie at home is just as fun when you're with somebody special. I can be a homebody at times, especially if there's somebody special at home to be with. I won't accept anything but total honesty in a relationship and once committed, am strictly a one woman man. I'm looking for somebody who will have my back and I will have hers. I have a Planet Fitness membership and it would be nice to have a workout partner or just a bicycle riding partner. There happens to be two Trek Navigator bikes (I had one at home and bought another while I was working in TX) in my shed that are like new, just in case somebody would like to ride one of them alongside of me.
I forgot to mention, I like animals and have a very lovable mixed breed dog that I share my home with... (or maybe it's that he shares his home with me). I'm a 'Friend of Mosquito Lake Dog Park' contributor and take him there fairly often. It's fun to watch the way the dogs interact with each other. We're a package deal because, although he's a rescue from the Animal Welfare League, I wouldn't take a million dollars for him! If it were to become a problem with somebody I really cared about, I'd reconsider having future pets, but I'm keeping this one! I'm a Life Member of the Animal Welfare League.
