Blessed and fortunate, that is how I would describe myself. I have an amazing family, amazing friends and a job I love although I haven’t left high school=) When I am not teaching and coaching I love to stay active. Biking, running, hiking, the gym, surfing and wake surfing… Summers and breaks are time for travel and play. There is nothing better than a great workout early in the day and then some wine and a great meal with friends/family or that special someone in the evening.
I am not the most chatty person so talking about myself is difficult. I am very laid back. I don’t mean apathetic, indifferent or even mellow, but fun loving, joyous, and I certainly don’t take life too seriously. Most people in the world have so much less than I do. What do I have to complain about? I find that when I put others first and give back to the community or world, I get abundantly more in return. I wish I did it more.
My dream, (if I won the lotto=), would be to buy some property and start a kids camp. I believe in the power of taking kids out of their element and teaching them outdoor recreation activities, exposing them to positive adult roll models and having them form friendships that last a lifetime. How cool would it be to be able to teach some inner city kids to surf while they make friends with rival gang members at the same time. Or having guys who are growing up without a positive male roll model bonding with their rock climbing instructor. Or abused kids learning to trust adults while also learning to wakeboard. Well, I don’t play the lotto but it would be pretty cool.
I am ready to meet someone to start the next stage of my life with. It can be lonely at times going at it alone. Might it be you? Let’s find out.
