So I've been off of Match.com for a few months now and I just reactivated my subscription so I can actually communicate with people again. I feel like there are some things about me that have changed so I should probably update my profile a bit.
I challenged myself in January to try and go an entire month without a single drop of alcohol just to see what it was like and if I could do it, and I did. It was really nice and actually pretty refreshing and taught me how much I truly enjoy being active and outdoors instead of hanging out in the same old bar scene, which I am pretty tired of. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to meet that special someone at a bar nowadays anyway, although I have nothing against the occasional night out with friends.
Most weeknights I head to the gym after work to get out some of my energy, and plus it just makes me feel better in general. I really enjoy doing things like hiking, going for bike rides or even just going for a walk by myself through Freedom Park or on the greenway. I feel like those things really help me clear my head and are the type of things that make me truly happy inside. It would be really nice to meet someone who also enjoys those types of activities and would like to do them with me.
Sarcasm and a sense of humor are definitely a plus in my book. I like to cut up and laugh at stupid little things and be pretty spontaneous. I can get serious from time to time, but I like to try and enjoy myself if at all possible. I really like to travel and would love to find someone who is also into traveling and trying to see what all the world has to offer. I'd love to go to tons of foreign countries and see how differently they live their lives, I feel like you can learn a lot and gain a great perspective through adventures like that.
What else... my family is very important and close to me. My parents and brother still live in Cary (right outside of Raleigh) so I try and go back to see them and their dog pretty frequently. I'm actually back home visiting them as I am typing this right now. It's really nice to get away at times and spend a relaxing weekend with the ones I love.
Oh, I'm also pretty adventurous. Last summer I went skydiving, which was awesome. I also joined the Whitewater Center last year and like to go out there and mountain bike, go rafting or flatwater kayaking. It's a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to getting out there again as it starts to warm up a bit.
