This is the part where as a female, I have so much to say but find myself looking at this blue screen completely clueless. Shocker - I know! ;)
I guess I'll start with the basics: I'm a Maryland girl with a soul for adventure. I went to college in South Carolina, graduated and moved to Florida. I had a blast but something always felt like it was missing. I'm back where I belong, at home in DC and it’s never felt more right. My family and friends mean the world to me and although my adventures have left friends all of the US and beyond, my parents are just a drive away! That’s a good feeling.
If you can’t tell already – I am full of wit, sarcasm, charm and a personality. My friends would say that I that I have these two sides to me and no, nothing to do with multiple personalities or being bi-polar so don’t run. I am outgoing and up for anything with a huge passion for life but when it comes down to it – I’m laid back, I care too much, am the one that everyone goes to for advice and a pick me up, never judge and always have words of wisdom. Life is too short to worry about all of the things that can happen from time to time. I try my best to live my life to the fullest which means that usually by Monday, I am exhausted. My career is important to me but we will have plenty of time to chat about all of that. I am a huge sports fan. My dad raised a Maryland sports lover so you can find me in orange/black and purple/black depending on the season. My biggest fear is falling in love with a Steelers fan. My second biggest fear is that my children will decide to become Steelers fans like their dad. I can’t have a house filled with a husband and little nuggets running around wearing black and yellow. That would be an absolute travesty. You can also find me in red. I’m a big CAPS fan and I’m not opposed to routing for the Nats. I also think red is a great color on me.
I will go on a hike on a Sunday morning, concert on a Tuesday, snowboarding or skydiving on a day off, a happy hour at the finest dive bar on a Thursday, sweats on the couch on a Friday, and although stilettos look great on occasion – Saturday, I’d rather be in boots or flip flops instead of waiting for a bottle of Grey Goose at a private table with fireworks shooting out of it. I love the water which means I love the beach. I starting swimming before walking so drop me in the ocean and I'm happy. I love to travel and do a lot of that for work but really need to get out of the country and explore. So, you name it – I’m there! As a little girl, I have told myself that I would “travel with the Beach Boys”. Sing the lyrics to “Kokomo” and write down all the destinations. Kokomo challenge: Think you are up for it?
What am I looking for? Isn’t that a loaded question. I’m looking for a best friend that I can grow with and go on my adventures with. I am at that point in my life that I am truly ready to settle down. You have to have a personality, love to laugh, be able to put me in my place (only when necessary!), love sarcasm and give it back, be honest and trustworthy, be up for adventures and preferably a football fan. I do have a couple of pet peeves. I do like texting but my dad also raised me with old school values. If you are going to text me to ask me out, I don’t think you and I are meant to date. I also would really appreciate it if you tried to spell words out. Is “you” really harder than “u”? Please, if you’re going to text or send a message, know the difference between your and you’re, their and there, too and to. I hope that doesn't sound mean and I might not have won the spelling bee but it drives me crazy!
Thanks for getting through this jumble of words and I look forward to hearing from you. :)
