ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I know guys get a bad rap and I hear all kinds of crazy stories, but I am here to say girls are no picnic either :) Here is a brief synopsis of my last 3 online dates. All 3 girls were intelligent, I felt were attractive, and we had good convo and a good time.

Date 1: Date goes well, and during the date we agree to 2nd date. Toward the end of the date though, she tells me essentially..."I really don't feel the need to date bc I've had a FWB for the last few years." Uh yeah, I didn't exactly get all warm and tingly...kinda creeped me out.

Date 2: Date goes really well, we have chemistry, good time, kiss a bit. Next day I go to txt her hello and she says that she thought I was a great guy, blah, blah, blah, but "didn't feel like we were soul mates." (???) Really? I was just wanting a 2nd date for like a hike in Umstead - sheesh

Date 3: Date goes well, we say we are interested in getting to know each other better. We txt for a few days after and she then tells me she has started dating her best friend...

So yeahhhh.... frustrating would be a good word for it. So there maybe should be fields on here to weed this stuff out? Like how about "currently banging FWB - yes / no ?" Or how about "If I don't feel we are soul mates in first 2.5 hours, I'm out - yes / no ?"

Anyway...I digress...

I'm a low drama guy and looking to meet a cool girl to hang out and do fun things with. I'm pretty athletic and played college basketball (I'm very tall), in addition to a few other sports. These days I like to keep fit and active with different sports leagues, lift at the gym 3-4 days a week, and pretty much anything outdoors, love the beach. I'm active in volleyball, tennis, softball leagues, and also am into some running, SUP, and mountain biking. Mud runs are a lot of fun....and I MAY eventually want to try a tri-sprint some day, but am not there yet. On my to-do list for this year is to get into kite-boarding :) You don't have to be a jock - but just enjoy / be open to different activities whether you are any good or not, and have fun with it. I'm pretty laid back and have a good job that I like at a great company.

Girls that I have dated have said I'm authentic and easy to talk to. My female friends that are on here have told me most guys on Match are just looking to hook up. I can honestly say that is not what I am looking for, and I think most of us can get that if that's all we were after.

I feel that a healthy relationship should be one where you enhance and improve each other's quality of life, or else what's really the point? I also think that compromise is an important aspect of any relationship.

I can cook some, like to check out live music and the occasional concert, and think I'm pretty easy to get along with. I have learned that sense of humor is very important to me in a girl; I like to laugh and be with a girl that's fun to make smile.

Favorite hot spots:

I'm pretty easy-going but do miss bigger cities I've lived in for options...I like a few bars like Raleigh Times and Busy Bee downtown; Durham for restaurants; the state parks here are great for biking and hiking, and love Wrightsville Beach.

Favorite things:

I'm pretty handy, like working with my hands...love my tool collection, and can fix or install most things. A project I did a couple years ago that I thought was cool was replacing my water heater myself - put the saved $$ into a new mountain bike.
