Hi there! My closest friends would describe me as an outgoing, smart, kind, adventurous and sometimes sassy lady. I'm quite friendly and always saying, or doing, something silly to lighten the mood. I grew up in the area and currently live in downtown Raleigh and work in Durham. I’m the kind of girl that will remember the thing you said you’d forget. I’ll make chicken soup when you get sick. I believe in striking a balance between making time for yourself and maintaining close relationships with friends and family. I may have a sweet face but I work hard and don't stand for being pushed around. Although I’m confident and very comfortable doing things on my own it would be a welcome change having that great guy around. You know someone I can share the good stuff with; cooking dinner, weekend getaways, baseball games, Sunday brunch, summer concerts. Staying busy makes it tricky meeting the right people so I thought I’d give this a try. I love pets and kids but at this moment I'm delighted to only have one of those items (pets... not kids). I appreciate a good beer and a well made drink. World Beer Fest and the Boubon and Barbeque Festival are right up my alley. Dining out is another favorite of mine. I eat things some folks might call “weird” but keeping an open minded approach to food (or anything actually) is important to me. How will you know if you don’t try? I also like cooking at home but it’s not that enjoyable to cook for just yourself. I’d like to find a guy I could pop open a bottle of wine and cook dinner with. Yes, you can put me in the "loves to travel" category. My favorite American city is Chicago. I’d love to go see some far off places like Seoul, Switzerland, Costa Rica, maybe even see the DMZ between North and South Korea. I should mention my Spanish is pretty good for a white girl. These days however domestic travel is a bit more practical. I’m totally up for a weekend trip to the beach, Charleston, DC, Ashville. If we can make it in 6 hours I say let’s go! I drive a six-speed manual and it’s a bonus if the trip has windy back country roads. My folks just bought lake property so I’m looking forward to spending time this summer out on the boat. I used to ski as a kid and I’d like to learn again. Other exciting advantages to the lakehouse are that it gives me a good place to watch meteor showers! It’s hard to find a good place to watch. I definitely have a nerdy, science side to me. I like the Natural Science Museum and enjoy learning how the universe was formed. You may catch me watching Into the Wormhole or The Universe with Steven Hawking. If you have any interest in sitting outside on a chilly night to watch shooting stars you should let me know. I’ve got a great home and I really enjoy decorating. It doesn’t have to be flashy and expensive to be well put together. I appreciate mixing and matching flea market antiques with upscale pieces. The house has been a work in progress and there is always something I want to do. I laid my own hardwood floors, mounted the tv, refinish the dresser so I would like to see a guy that makes an effort to be handy and takes pride in his place. I am not however so great at working in the yard! Maybe you are? My dad and I used to ride motorcycles together and he used to say that riding was a hobby, not a lifestyle. That saying has stuck with me because it says a lot about the balance between a hobby and an obsession. I want a man with a hobby, not a guy that lives and breathes that hobby. A man with a positive attitude, who's up for adventure but still stable and well rounded. It’s OK to be a little nerdy or shy. Life is pretty awesome and I'd like to find a man whom I can share that awesomeness with.
