Jumping right in... I’m a low-maintenance, in-the-moment, optimistic person with a definite goofy/sarcastic streak… the kind of person who will rarely pass up the opportunity to make a snow-angel or do a back dive into the water. I think the key to being happy is trying to find the bright side of any situation - after all, you can't control what happens in life, but you can choose how to respond to it.
For some random details - in no particular order: I'm an intelligent person, but I have my moments of inanity which keep me grounded and keep me laughing at myself (and yes - it's ok for you to laugh too). I am proud of what I have accomplished in my career but learned the hard way how important keeping a good work/life balance is. I am not socially inept and actually enjoy conversations with strangers, so you don't have to worry about me at a party. However, I also do not need to be the center of attention and I am perfectly content having a drink and a quiet moment on my own. I'm just as comfortable dressing up or down, going out on the town or relaxing in the mountains by a campfire. I am not afraid to try something new or to eat a burger in front of you. Swimming always came naturally to me so I love anything to do with the water (still need to get certified in scuba!). Conversely, running has never come naturally, but that doesn't stop me from trying! I get a kick out of the occasional rainstorm in LA and like to visit snow, but can’t imagine living in a place that isn’t habitually sunny. Music has always been a part of my life, including a brief stint as a music major in college. So I enjoy most genres, especially in outdoor venues like the Hollywood Bowl. My creative side is now fascinated with photography and I love focusing in on the details of nature. I have a pretty constant desire to travel, which I try to keep semi-satisfied by taking weekend trips throughout the year. Want to decide at the spur of the moment to jump in the car and get out of town for the weekend...? Then I'm your girl (we can figure out a place to stay on the way - that's what iPhone's are for!) But I also like having a big trip in the planning to look forward to. For 2012 I went to Maui with family and then Turkey with a group of friends. I'm in the early planning stages for my next travel destination - any suggestions? I love my life and those in it and I feel incredibly lucky to view my friends as family and my family as friends.
My description of you... I know we all say we are looking for someone with a sense of humor but nothing is more attractive than cracking each other up. And not just the chuckle-chuckle, hee-hee kind of funny, but that eyes-watering, side-aching, can’t-breathe, kind of hilarity. This also includes being able to laugh at yourself – a prerequisite for hanging with my friends and family (fair warning). You are the first person I think of when I want to share either the good or the bad moments. Your smile and your laugh are contagious to me. I feel as comfortable in your presence as I do my own and we can talk endlessly about anything yet be perfectly at ease saying nothing. Our decision to be together will be because we want to, not because we need to - and you appreciate how much more meaningful that is. I wish I could properly articulate what that chemistry will feel like when it’s the right person. I just have to trust that we'll know it when we see it.
