ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

Jumping right in... I’m a low-maintenance, optimistic person with a big smile that I am rarely without. While I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent, I definitely have my moments of inanity which keep me grounded and keep me laughing at myself (and yes - it's ok for you to laugh too). I am not socially inept and actually enjoy conversations with new people, so you don't have to worry about me at a party. However, I also do not need to be the center of attention and I am perfectly content having a drink and a quiet moment on my own. I'm just as comfortable dressing up or down, going out on the town or relaxing in the mountains by a campfire. Swimming always came naturally to me so I love anything to do with the water (still need to get certified in scuba!). Conversely, running has never come naturally, but that doesn't stop me from trying! I get a kick out of the occasional rainstorm in LA and like to visit snow, but can’t imagine living in a place that isn’t habitually sunny. Music has always been a part of my life so I enjoy most genres, especially live in outdoor venues like the Hollywood Bowl. I have a pretty constant desire to travel, which I try to keep semi-satisfied by taking weekend trips (both planned and spontaneous) throughout the year. But I also like having a big trip in the works to look forward to. Last year I went to Maui with my family and the Big Island with friends. For 2014 I'll be in New York in December, and have some weekend getaways planned, but still pondering where I want to go for a longer trip. I will always enjoy visiting and experiencing different parts of the world, but I feel at home in Hawaii and will never tire of the islands and swimming with sea turtles. I love my life and those in it and I feel incredibly lucky to view my friends as family and my family as friends. I think the key to being happy is trying to find the bright side of any situation - after all, you can't control what happens in life, but you can choose how you respond to it.

I know we all say we are looking for someone with a sense of humor, but truly nothing is more attractive than cracking each other up. And not just the polite chuckle, hee-hee, golf-clap kind of funny, but that eyes-watering, side-aching, can’t-breathe, kind of hilarity. This also includes being able to laugh at yourself – a prerequisite for hanging with my friends and family (fair warning). I hope that our smiles and laughs will be contagious to each other. I also believe in honesty, integrity and trust. Really, all the other details are irrelevant - when you have that elusive chemistry, everything else just seems to fall into place.
