I'm a former singer/actress turned professor/academic....make what you will of that. When I moved to Boston from New York six years ago for graduate school, I thought that it would never feel like home; however, I've come to really love it here (both Boston and my little corner of Brookline)...so I guess that makes me a bad New Yorker.I just finished graduate school and am starting my career as a university professor, which basically means that I have been in school for a very long time and I'm very pleased to be branching out and joining the "real world." However, what I do really doesn't define me--although I love my students and my research, I'm much more of a work to live type of gal! A few preliminary details: I love (love!) movies, music, yoga, and any artistic endeavor (theatre, concerts, museums, etc.) I just bought a car so I'm really looking forward to being able to get out of the city for day trips, hiking, all that fun stuff. "People" say that I'm funny, and I'm very honest (usually to the point of self-deprecation). I absolutely love good conversation; communication is really important to me and I'm always game for any kind of lively debate--be it political, philosophical, or entirely trivial. Really, it all comes down to passion. I'm an incredibly passionate person, so I like to surround myself with people that are passionate about something, anything (and it doesn't have to be your job). Basically looking for that special somebody to share my adventures with. (And since the New Year is upon us, here are some adventures I'd like to pursue in the New Year: learning to ski, learning to rock climb, spending more time hiking, getting in a kayak! Feel free to drop me a line if you think you can help out a newbie). You are: Independent, active, funny, honest, and willing to go with the flow. Let's go out and see how it goes!
