I believe that love is not some kind of magical or biological phenomenon, but a choice, a choice that one makes when "sizing up" or judging another. Anyone can love almost anybody when given a fair chance. One can choose to love the qualities in another that make them who they are, both good and bad, by choosing to focus on what is positive rather than the negative. Even so, love is still a bumpy road, not quite the "happy ever after" that both mine and younger generations idealize. If we can be patient, kind, and accepting of people and what makes them who they are, then through time and dedication, we can overcome our differences and begin to develop ourselves as well as those around us, and as we begin to understand and accept each other more and more, the bonds we share grow stronger, and our appreciation for others increases. I am looking for someone with whom I can spend the rest of my life with, someone who will stand by my side and be patient with me as we continue to learn more about each other, someone who will never give up, but stand strong and remain unbroken through troubled times and issues. I desire to give myself to another, so that they may feel loved and worthwhile, for there are few feelings so great, and as a result, i too may find my happiness in another. I am one who places strong value in compromise and taking a look at things from the viewpoints of others, as well as finding a state of physical, emotional, and intellectual content, and enjoy listening to what others think about. I look forward to hearing what anyone has to say, and perhaps we can begin a future together.
