I’ve been told that my personality makes me more attractive. If I had to guess, I would say this is because I like to have fun and have a pretty good sense of humor, I’m driven, and I have strong values. It could also be because I take lousy pictures and people are relieved to discover I’m not a troll in person, who knows. I enjoy both irreverent banter and more substantial conversations, but the former is mostly when the latter gets boring. I can be pretty extroverted and gregarious, but if I'm doing something I'm passionate about I can spend long stretches of time alone and be perfectly happy. I take my career (turnaround consulting; fixing broken companies) seriously and am always working to improve, both at work and on side projects, but I believe in the ‘work hard, play hard’ cliche. Nothing leaves me feeling quite as satisfied as a productive day, which is part of the reason I'm on here; I don't like how staying out late at bars throws off my next day or three and I wanted another way to meet people. I'm happily single but I plan to settle down when I meet the right person.
I can be pretty blunt but the upside is that I'm not comfortable lying and I typically say what's on my mind--what you see is what you get.
I have a lot of energy and like staying active. I grew up on the water and love to be on or near it whenever I can. I love Chicago, but don’t consider myself completely citified and still like to get out in nature, go snowboarding, get out in a boat, etc. when possible. I'm athletic but don't really follow sports (I never watch ESPN) other than Michigan football, and even that doesn't play a big part in my life. I figured I'd throw that out there for girls who prefer a sports-obsessed guy. Frankly I've never understood why watching other men pursue their interests--instead of pursuing your own--is considered manly. Other things I don’t understand: decorative pillows, historical reenactment, drum circles.
OK I'm sick of talking about myself.
I'm looking for someone with a big heart that doesn't take themselves too seriously and has the intelligence to add depth to conversations. I get along best with genuine, low-maintenance people who don't mind breaking the rules every once in a while. I stay fit and eat healthy and appreciate that in someone else. I think that does it.
