Hi. I just moved to Greensboro, and I'm a professor. I have a 5 lb shih-tzu pom mix and lots of nieces and nephews whom I love dearly! Basically, I'm in a really good place in life right now. Love my apartment, love my job, love my colleagues, have great friends, and I have a great time with my family. I think I'm ready to find *that* love. The one that lasts and is deeper than anything I've ever had before. Several friends have met their partners online, so I don't discount this as a legitimate tool to help in that search. Hopefully, it works for me too!
So here's a little more about me. I'm a writer. I love to read. I don't have television, partly because I don't want to pay that much for it and partly because I don't watch it that much anyway. I've started cooking a lot more recently and hope to find some more "go-to" dishes. I love flowers, patchworks, thrift stores, earth tones, indie films, 80's music, air conditioning, rain, and naps. Some of my favorite bands are: Iron Wine, The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, Zero 7, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Portishead, Coldplay, and most downtempo ambient (according to Pandora, anyway). Some of my favorite movies are The Wizard of Oz, Garden State (I don't care if that's stereotypical, I still like it ;o), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Last Mimzy, The Goonies, The Dark Crystal, claymation Christmas movies, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and all the movies featured on Elvira's Movie Macabre! Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is pretty epic!
I'm looking for someone relaxed, laid back, and chill. Someone happy with where he is in life and pretty much at the same point in life I'm in, I guess. My ideal match is educated, not religious, left-leaning, compassionate, kind, thoughtful, passionate, and intelligent. I think it's important to have some of the same interests, but I also realize the importance of maintaining your own identity and of not altering that in order to please someone else. I highly value openness, honesty, and communication. I'm looking for someone extremely genuine and interesting.
