About me:
I enjoy athletic activities. My favorites are riding and training my horses, and hiking with my dog. I play tennis during the summer, and ski during the winter. I practice martial arts, yoga, and meditation. I was a PADI-certified scuba diver and a rock climber. Due to time constraints, I haven't done those two in awhile. However, it would be fun to pick them up again with the right companion.
I love gaining knowledge, whether in science, philosophy, economics, etc. I like listening to other people describe their expertise, whether in their chosen career or avocation. I'm an engineer, a bit nerdy, definitely left-brained. To stimulate the right side of my brain, I dabble in the arts. I'm into cinematography and film editing. In between technical classes, I take film classes at UCLA extension. I have this notion that one of these days, I will travel to the world's foremost universities and research centers and document their work, similar to the PBS show Nova.
I am into the arts, film, music, and architecture. My tastes range from major studio to indie movies, and hard rock to jazz to classical music. I love going to the movies and concerts. And museums. There's nothing like seeing a painting or sculpture up close and personal. For instance, I could not see the big fuss about Van Gogh until I saw his paintings in real life. A picture in a book or the computer screen doesn't do him justice. And it doesn't hurt that museums are usually masterpieces of architecture.
I try to live a healthy lifestyle, with lots of sports and good nutrition. I prefer organic fruits and vegetables from farmer's markets, since I make lots of smoothies and juice. My goal is to become a healthy centenarian, and witness all the scientific and artistic advances still to come.
About you:
You love animals, for I have three. You love a good adventure. You live a healthy lifestyle. You are kind, honest, and forthright. You are firm but gentle, tough but fair, driven but carefree, classy but down-to-earth, naughty but loyal, confident but humble. Above all, you think. I feel that people should at least attempt to cultivate a basic understanding of the physical world, as well as the human condition.
