A little about myself; I grew up moving around quite a bit and I have lived in numerous states as well as in India for close to a year. I wasn’t always a happy traveler, objecting to the many moves of my youth, but in time I grew to appreciate its advantages. Now, having overseas relatives and my engineering jobs have made it easy to travel and discover other cultures worldwide.
I have three brothers and no sisters (to which you are now likely thinking “your poor mom”). Not having any daughters didn’t stop my mom from teaching my brothers and I how to sew and knit. My dad taught us how to cook and clean up. My mom taught us how to manage money and I taught myself how to bake. My brothers and I were always encouraged to try new things and we had a very nontraditional upbringing which I’d like to think has shaped us into the well rounded individuals we are today.
I work for a large international consulting firm as an engineer and do projects all over the U.S and have worked in India and China. I find working as engineer very challenging, rewarding, and I really enjoy the people I work with.
Nerd Alert/Disclaimer - I really enjoy being an engineer; I have found an outlet for my nerdy personality . I struggled a bit in my pre-college years trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. However, once I decided to go back to school and started taking classes, I found engineering exactly what I was looking for. After I graduated I found a job that exactly compliments my desire to constantly learn new things.
My interests vary greatly and include hiking, camping, motorcycle riding, playing volleyball (my summer volleyball league was more of a drinking team with a volleyball problem), and playing a very poor game of golf. I am also learning French as a way to help me better connect with my French relatives. One of my favorite hobbies is cooking/baking and I regularly take cooking classes to learn new techniques. I feel Alton Brown and Anthony Bourdain are brilliant, Rachel Ray is a hack, and Giada De Laurentiis is the perfect woman (but she’s not returning my phone calls, so no worries about competition) .
A little about you; you are an intelligent, affectionate woman who values diverse conversations, have a great sense of humor, a sharp wit, likes holding hands, and travels well. If this sounds like you, please feel free to contact me.
