In the past I've had mixed feelings about the "online dating" thing. However, I have some friends that met their significant others online and are still going strong today.
I'm born and raised here in San Diego county. I'm a friends family oriented sort of guy. I choose to have a positive outlook on life, and I prefer to surround myself with people that share a similar outlook.
After reading a dozen or so profiles, I think we all can agree that just about EVERYONE loves to Travel. I've done my fair share. I've been all over, 4 out of 7 continents so far and yet there is an almost endless list of places I'd like to explore. Two places I've yet to travel and really want to visit are Spain and Ireland. If not for the culture and food alone, some of my family heritage comes from Spain. I've been traveling Baja California since I was a kid with both friends and family and I've driven the entire peninsula twice.
I'm looking for someone who likes to laugh, have a good time, (doesn't everyone?) and is fun to be around. That said, I also appreciate someone that's both thoughtful and intelligent and can be serious when needed. I enjoy both fine dining and I like little hole in the wall places too. Often times the little tiny family owned places are truly the best. Of course, I like to cook at home too.
As far as who I really am as a person, I'm undoubtedly a combination of many people that have influenced me in some way through the years. My parents played a big role in what kind of person I am today. However, if I had to pick out one person other than my parents that has been most influential in my life I would say my 86 year old grandfather on my mom's side. If you met him, you'd know why. He exemplifies all the traits and qualities that I want to hear when people describe Me. He was always a loving husband, a devoted father and a friend to many. To me he is the epitome of a "Good Man". Through his example I have seen and learned the true meaning of hard work, charity and honesty, loyalty. He has always been one to show compassion and he always told us about the importance of personal responsibility. He is without a doubt the most humble guy I've ever met. He loved my grandmother and treated her like a queen all her life until she passed several years ago. He continues to love her to this day.
I'm definitely still a work in progress and I believe that we can constantly become a better version of ourselves throughout life. Especially when we surround ourselves with the right people. At the end of the day though it comes down to Chemistry. It's either there or it isn't. IF you actually read this whole thing...I'm impressed. I never intended for it to be a novel. I hope we both find what we're looking for.
